What if psychosis is not about loosing connection but gaining it? What if it is about connecting the 2 brain sides with each other?
As someone “suffering” from this and various other “things” unknown to the world around me, at least for most of them, how is one to say what is right and what is not? I was diagnosed with psychosis lately, a first for me. I have always avoided hospitals and doctors if I could, sometimes out of fear but also just out of sureness that all is well.
So how can your truth be more true than mine? Is this only established upon your opinion or does truth become true upon the number of people who perceive it to be true? If that were so then how would then anything change in this world?
Sometimes the one thing we and the world need is for just one person in the entire existence of earth to thing outside of the “box”. This Box being something which we humans put upon ourselves. Nobody else is to blame. Sure the system or whatever else you think is influencing you is not perfect but at the end it is all about you and yourself and about how you perceive your surroundings to be.
So coming back to the topic about psychosis. What if it not a “dis”ease but ease? What if it is a PSYCH OSIS - an Oasis for the Psyche? There are many stories about Psyche and Medicine originating back in time, many ancient writers already talking about the topic. For example humorism.
So what if Psychosis as well as so many other different medical “dis”orders is actually here to bring back the ORDER of things that are not IN order? Just bringing back all that we have lost in a way?
I have always seen mental “dis”eases as something most natural, something happening to bring back certain layers of ourselves that we have lost with our upbringing and daily life. Bringing us back to a state that is nearly child like, learning how to deal with life anew, programming ourselves again and this time hopefully being able to choose how we deal with our surroundings and how we do not. That can sometimes be harder than other things, all depending on how much of a safe space we have to deal with our “issues”. An example, if we find ourselves in a place for example a hospital, where we do not feel well, we do not have good food, our friends, and so on, it will be hard to actually trust and be able to deal with what we have in a way that is good for us. We will choose that what is the “safest” option for our system. Sometimes that is good sometimes not. That is why we have so many coping mechanisms, like for example food. We do something the be able to deal with something else, coming from a fear about what might happen if we are truly ourselves in that moment. That originates in our perception of our surroundings. IF WE ALWAYS CHOOSE TO JUST BE OURSELVES, no matter the cost, we might be seen as crazy or might just not be able to live life in a way that is “normal” right now. We might end up in a hospital, or prison, or worse. Whoever will know.
In other examples, it might also happen that we will be able to just be ourselves and go on with life in a way which is positive for a system. Dealing with out traumas, problems or “mental diseases” in a way that WE perceive to be right and truthful. And I am not saying this and telling you that normal school medicine is bad. No. I believe everyone has the right to choose what is right for Him or She, rather than have someone else take that away from them, taking their freedom. Better in my opining it would be for the facilities dealing with such cases to create a safe enough space where the patients can deal with the topics. Best with little to non of things which do bad, but here again - EVERY CASE is different and it is often hard to say at the beginning what is helpful for one and what not. That what I believe is most important, is being taken seriously, not as someone ill and a patient but as a normal human beings, with dreams, desires, fears, goals, boundaries and so on. So having also someone to talk to can be very helpful but if it is really based on trust and honesty. If not then it might even do worse.
So back to the science. I will talk here about my case, other ones might be a lot different, every one should face their own truth and also be asked how one perceives it to be. That has never happened to me with the doctors, no one has ever asked me, what do I believe is happening, it was always about how it came to be and so on. But why is one not asked about their own truth? Once again we are taken away from our own freedom of though and someone with a degree or authority is displayed to be smarter and better knowledgeable in that topic.
What I believe happens in my case with the psychosis is that more neuronal pathways open up and run, some which have never been used before. Basically that the hard parts of my brain open up for the messengers and new information is coming up. Kind of like in the film “Lucy” but without drugs and without reaching full capacity. REACHING FULL capacity I believe is possible just with the right amount of fuel and humanity is not ready for that, OR AT LEAST I AM NOT.
